About the Branson 2000X Series
The Branson 2000X Series replaced the legacy 2000 Series and added several key technical capabilities: digital signal processing for tighter weld control, expanded weld modes including Distance (DT), Energy (EA), and Time (T), upgraded interface software for better diagnostics, and broader frequency coverage from 15 kHz up to 40 kHz. The 2000X family is the workhorse of modern ultrasonic plastic assembly — used in medical device manufacturing, automotive interiors, food packaging, consumer electronics, and high-volume plastics production around the world.
Within the 2000X family there are three control modes (T for Time, EA for Energy, D / DT for Distance) and four actuator configurations (AE for standard, AO for output-only, AED for distance-equipped, AEF for force). Each can be matched with the appropriate power supply to create the system best suited for your application. The 2000XC pneumatic press generation builds on the 2000X architecture with a touchscreen LCD interface, AEC control, and integrated weld-mode programming including Time, Energy, Distance, Peak Power, and Ground Detect.

EDP Part Number Reference
The Branson 2000X family uses EDP numbers to identify specific power supply configurations by control mode, frequency, power level, and orientation (horizontal vs vertical). Below are the standard EDP numbers across the most common 2000X / DCX-compatible configurations. If your unit's part number is listed — we service it. If it isn't, call us; we likely service it anyway.
These EDP numbers are based on the modern 2000X / DCX-compatible nomenclature. Older 2000X units use different EDP numbering — verify against your label and call us if you're unsure.

Our 4-Step Repair Process
Every 2000X unit follows the same component-level process. Production teams know what to expect because the process is the same whether you ship us a single 2000X power supply or a complete 2000X system.
1. Evaluate
Free same-day evaluation and quote.
2. Disassemble
Complete teardown and cleaning. Every board, connector, pneumatic component, encoder, and mechanical assembly is inspected at the component level. Cooling fans and filters are replaced as standard procedure.
3. Repair
Failed components and high-probability-of-failure parts are replaced. Cables, regulators, and gauges are serviced as needed. Front control panels are refurbished including video displays, push buttons, switches, and output controls.
4. Load Test
Rigorous burn-in cycling, full system load testing, and output verification against original manufacturer specifications. Documented and returned to production-ready condition with a 1-year cover to cover warranty.
Common 2000X Failures We Repair
Across thousands of 2000X repairs we see the same failure modes repeatedly. If your unit is showing one of these symptoms, we have replacement components in stock and the test fixtures to verify the fix:
- Power Supply Module Overload (Error 19) — capacitor failure, output stage degradation, or upstream stack faults
- Non-resettable alarms (Error 05, Error 21) — SV drive output failures, often a blown fuse or triac failure
- ULS / TRS timing faults (Error 01, 03, 06, 11, 13) — interface board failures or relay degradation
- Touchscreen LCD failures (2000XC) — display backlight failure, touch controller calibration drift
- Communication and I/O errors — Ethernet, RS-232/485, or user I/O signal degradation
- Frequency drift outside generator lock range — converter or booster stack issues; we diagnose the whole acoustic system
- Front panel switch and encoder failures — push buttons, rotary encoders, output adjust controls
- Cooling fan failures and thermal shutdown faults — replaced as standard procedure on every rebuild
- Pneumatic system leaks and regulator failures (2000XC) — fittings, lines, gauges, regulators serviced or replaced
- Discontinued component sourcing — OEM-discontinued parts identified, cross-referenced, and replaced with verified equivalents

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the 2000 Series and the 2000X Series?
The 2000 Series is the legacy generation; the 2000X Series replaced it with digital signal processing, expanded weld modes (Time, Energy, Distance, Force), and broader frequency coverage from 15 kHz up to 40 kHz. The 2000X also introduced upgraded interface software for better diagnostics. We service both generations equivalently — same trust signals, same warranty, same turnaround.
What's the difference between 2000XDT and 2000XEAT?
The 2000XDT uses distance-based weld control — the welder measures actual collapse depth and welds to an absolute distance target. The 2000XEAT uses energy-based control plus advanced time modes — the welder delivers a programmed energy amount or runs a time-based weld cycle. Both are 2000X family members, both available in multiple kW configurations, both fully serviceable by RIS.
Can you repair the 2000XC pneumatic press systems?
Yes. The 2000XC adds a touchscreen LCD interface, AEC control level, and pneumatic actuation to the 2000X architecture. Most 2000XC repairs involve touchscreen calibration, power supply module faults, pneumatic regulator/cylinder issues, or communication errors. We have the test fixtures, replacement components, and pneumatic service capability in-house.
Do I need to ship the entire 2000X system, or can I send just the power supply?
Either works. If you can identify the failure as power supply only, send just that. If you're seeing intermittent issues or unsure where the problem is, send the complete stack (power supply, converter, booster, horn, actuator) so we can verify the whole acoustic system under load. Use the Ship It Now form to streamline receiving and skip paperwork delays.
My EDP number isn't in the table above. Do you still service it?
Almost certainly yes. The EDP tables above cover the most common modern 2000X / DCX-compatible configurations. Older 2000X units use different EDP numbering, and many custom configurations exist for specific OEM applications. Call us with your EDP number or model nameplate and we'll confirm. We service virtually every 2000X variant ever shipped.
Branson is now Emerson — does that change anything for repair?
No. The 2000X Series predates and continues through the Emerson rebrand. We service all 2000X equipment under both branding generations. Replacement components are available for both Branson-era and Emerson-era equipment, including legacy parts the OEM no longer stocks.
How fast can you get my 2000X back into production?
Standard turnaround is under 2 weeks. Expedited repairs ship in 1–3 days. For line-down emergencies, we offer same-day repair and same-day shipping when possible. Most units are diagnosed within 24 hours of arrival on our bench. If timing is critical, mention that when you call — we hold a queue position for emergencies.
What is your warranty on 2000X Series repairs?
Every 2000X repair, full system rebuild, and refurbished unit is backed by our 1-year cover to cover warranty — equal to or better than the OEM new-product warranty on equivalent equipment. Free telephone tech support is included for the life of the unit.
